General Hospital star Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis) pulled off the ultimate real-life soap opera twist — marrying producer Matt McInnis in a surprise wedding on Saturday, May 31, in Los Angeles.

According to People, the couple invited close friends and family to what was billed as an engagement party. But when guests arrived — including actors Britt Robertson, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Shelley Hennig, and Alley Mills — they were stunned to discover they were actually attending an “elegant” and “deeply personal” wedding ceremony.
“Our biggest goal — and hurdle — was to maintain the surprise,” Mansi told People. “We wanted that eruption of joy, that moment where love just takes over the room.”
The venue was carefully chosen for its ability to conceal the ceremony space until just the right moment. Mansi shared that it was “essential” guests couldn’t see anything upon arrival that might spoil the surprise. And it paid off.
Adding to the romance was a special musical moment — GH’s Giovanni Mazza (Gio) performed an original violin arrangement of Taylor Swift’s “Lover” as Kate walked down the aisle.
McInnis couldn’t hold back his love and admiration for his new bride, telling People:
“I’ve never met a braver human being than Katie. She inspires me. She makes everyone around her better by nurturing qualities in them which even they may not see at first. Her ability to love with her whole heart and wide eyes is the greatest gift a person could ever receive.”
