GH Alum Sofia Mattsson Joins Days Of Our Lives
General Hospital alum Sofia Mattsson has officially joined the cast of Days of Our Lives, marking an exciting new chapter following her memorable run as Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital.
The casting news was first reported by former Soap Opera Digest Editorial Director Stephanie Sloane in her newsletter, SoapSteph’s Daytime Dish.
Mattsson portrayed Sasha from 2018 until her exit in July 2025, becoming a fan favorite through some of the character’s most emotional and dramatic storylines. Now, she’s trading Port Charles for Salem — though details about her new role are being kept tightly under wraps.
Sloane also shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Mattsson outside her dressing room at the Days studio, confirming that the actress has already begun filming. However, due to the show’s advanced production schedule, viewers shouldn’t expect to see her on-screen right away.
Mattsson is currently slated to make her Days of Our Lives debut in early 2027.
With no word yet on the character she’ll be playing, speculation is already building among fans about how she’ll fit into Salem’s ever-evolving canvas.
One thing’s for sure — Sofia Mattsson’s arrival is set to bring fresh energy and plenty of intrigue to Days of Our Lives.
