For years, Adam and Chelsea were one of The Young and the Restless’ most explosive, messy, magnetic pairings. Their love story has included everything from schemes and crime sprees to heartbreak, betrayal, and even a few near-death twists — soap opera gold.
Have Chelsea And Adam Lost Their Spark On The Young And The Restless?
But lately? Fans are starting to wonder if the spark has faded.
With both characters focusing on emotional healing, co-parenting, company downfalls, and personal growth, Adam and Chelsea have entered a calmer, quieter phase. It’s healthy for them… but is it too healthy? Without high-stakes conflict or messy twists, the couple feels more like supportive friends than a fiery romance.
Their chemistry is still there — Melissa Claire Egan and Mark Grossman always bring it — but chemistry without drama doesn’t move the story. And right now, Chadam’s story feels stalled.
Are they boring now… or simply in a slow stretch before their next big shake-up? In Genoa City, peace never lasts — and it may only be a matter of time before this quiet phase explodes into something bigger.

They still have a spark but they don't have the opportunity to show that spark like other couples get. The little tender moments with shoulder rubs, cuddles and hand-holding do show the care and love, but that's from the actors, not the writing. Chadam deserve a good story featuring their love.
Josh Griffith doesn't know what to write for Chadam except being Victor's minions, what a waste of a once very important pairing of the show. JG needs to go ASAP.
I find they are better than ever. They have a degree of intimacy and connection that make all their scenes soecial. We just need much more of them.
