According to Soap Opera Network, veteran soap producer Jill Farren Phelps has officially returned to The Young and the Restless—this time as a producer.

Initial reports suggested that Phelps had rejoined the CBS daytime drama in a non-producing capacity. However, confirmation came following Elizabeth Hendrickson’s recent announcement that she directed an episode of Y&R. In a social media post thanking those who supported her directorial debut, Hendrickson included current executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith, whom she credited for “greenlighting my goals from the start” as well as Phelps among the names she wanted to acknowledge.
Phelps is no stranger to Genoa City. She previously served as the show’s executive producer from 2012 to 2016, overseeing multiple high-stakes storylines and earning critical recognition along the way. Throughout her career, she has received 14 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, winning 11 times. Her work has spanned several iconic soaps, including five Emmy wins for General Hospital and three for The Young and the Restless.
Phelps’s return marks a significant moment for the long-running series, sparking curiosity among fans about how her influence might shape the show in the months ahead.
