Lucas Adams Joins The Young And The Restless As Noah Newman
TVInsider broke the news that The Young and the Restless has officially recast the role of Noah Newman with Adams stepping in.
Adams is no stranger to soaps. He made his daytime debut in 2017 on Days of Our Lives as Tripp Dalton, the conflicted son of Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Ava Vitale (Tamara Braun). Over the years, Tripp evolved from a troubled young man to a dedicated doctor, with Adams earning two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Performer during his run, which lasted on and off until 2024.
For fans needing a refresher, Noah Newman is the son of Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) Newman. The role has a long history of recasts, most recently played by Rory Gibson from 2021 to 2023. Before that, Robert Adamson (2012–2020) and Kevin Schmidt (2008–2010; 2011–2012) each left their mark on the character.
Interestingly, this isn’t Adams’ first visit to Genoa City. Back in March 2012, he appeared on Y&R for a one-off episode as Wesley, part of the soap’s teen scene at the time.
Outside of daytime, Adams is best known for playing Josh Wilcox on the Disney Channel sitcom Liv and Maddie (2015–2017). His additional credits include guest roles on Dexter, True Blood, School of Rock, and The Thundermans.
Adams begins taping this month and is expected to make his debut on-screen later this fall, adding another dynamic layer to the ever-complicated Newman family saga.
