Bjorlin originated the role of Chloe in 1999 and portrayed the popular character through several runs before departing the Peacock soap in 2023. Although many fans have continued hoping to see Chloe return to Salem, Bjorlin confirmed that the show’s producers approached her about another comeback.
The actress discussed her DAYS status during a joint interview with Michael Fairman alongside fellow Salem alum Kyler Pettis, who played Theo Carver. Bjorlin and Pettis were promoting their upcoming film, Veronica & Julian, when the conversation shifted to Chloe’s future.
Was Nadia Bjorlin Asked Back as Chloe?
Bjorlin confirmed that Days of Our Lives had contacted her about returning.
“What I can confirm is that they did ask me,” Bjorlin revealed. “But logistically, it just didn’t make sense.”
The actress also pointed to the financial realities affecting television productions today.
“TV now and budgets and whatnot,” Bjorlin explained. “It just didn’t make any sense, and I said no.”
While Bjorlin did not share the specific details of the offer, her comments suggest that the proposed arrangement did not work for her professionally or logistically.
However, turning down the opportunity was clearly not an easy decision.
“It hurt my heart to have to say no,” Bjorlin admitted.
Is Sofia Mattsson the New Chloe Lane?
During the interview, Fairman addressed growing speculation that former General Hospital star Sofia Mattsson, who played Sasha Gilmore, may have been hired to replace Bjorlin as Chloe.
The rumor began circulating after DAYS announced in March that Mattsson had joined the cast in an undisclosed role. The soap has not confirmed the identity of her character, but that hasn’t stopped viewers from wondering whether Salem is preparing for a Chloe Lane recast.
When Fairman stressed that the rumor remained unconfirmed, Bjorlin delivered a response that will likely fuel even more speculation.
“Oh, I’m not allowed—okay, I can’t say anything [on that subject],” she teased.
Although Bjorlin stopped short of confirming Mattsson’s role, she made it clear that she will not be the actress playing Chloe if the character returns.
“So, I guess I can confirm that it will not be me playing Chloe if there’s a Chloe that comes back,” Bjorlin said with a laugh.
