According to Deadline (link), fan-favorite Ryan Paevey is set to make his long-awaited return to General Hospital.
Ryan Paevey Returning to General Hospital
While details about his role remain under wraps, the actor will begin filming this month and is slated to air in September.
Paevey is best known to GH viewers for originating the role of Detective Nathan West in 2013. The character quickly became beloved by fans, but his run came to a tragic end in 2018 when Nathan was killed off. Paevey still treasures his time on the soap, sharing with Deadline, “I still have my last call sheet from my final taping day on January 18, 2018, tacked up in my home office.”
The actor revealed that his return began with a surprise text from Executive Producer Frank Valentini. “We talked a bit and he asked would I consider returning for awhile, talking story, floated different story ideas involving different time commitments of me, and I thought if we’re going to do this we should really do it and surprise the fans with a meaty storyline,” Paevey said. “I was surprised by my excitement for a homecoming and reuniting with familiar faces after seven years.”
Since Kelly Thiebaud (Britt Westbourne) returned in July, fans have been buzzing that Paevey might follow. His comeback only fuels speculation about how his new storyline will unfold, and whether it might connect to his past as Nathan.
Outside of daytime, Paevey’s credits include guest appearances on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Games People Play. Away from the screen, he is also a jewelry designer through his Fortunate Wanderer brand.
