While Jack argues that Nikki is trying to preserve her marriage and keep her family intact, Diane can’t understand why Jack continues to show such loyalty to a woman who remains devoted to his sworn enemy.
Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is caught off guard by Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). After Lily responded positively to Cane's New Year's Eve kiss and seemed willing to rekindle their relationship, she unexpectedly withdrew. Lily becomes emotionally guarded, giving off mixed and confusing signals that leave Cane feeling frustrated and uncertain about their relationship status.
Nikki teams up with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). Although the controversial AI program might be mentioned, the pressing concern is Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) disappearance. Nikki is worried about the possibility that Victor might kill Matt instead of handing him over to the authorities. Determined to prevent this, Nikki urges Michael to assist her in intervening before it's too late.
