Baby Yirah Aviah Lafond, the four-month-old daughter of Hashim Lafond and Johnetta Lafond, made her television debut during the July 15, 2026, episode of the long-running ABC daytime drama. The proud parents shared the exciting milestone with fans on Instagram, celebrating their daughter's first appearance on one of television's most iconic soap operas.

The couple, who are also the creators of House of Lafond and parents to eight children, couldn't contain their excitement as they introduced their newest little star to the world.

They wrote:

"Well would you look at that. You have another internet niece on television. Yirah Aviah is the newest cast member on General Hospital. She's four months today. The Lafond's are gonna be the biggest family in arts and entertainment."

A Historic Moment for General Hospital

Yirah's debut coincided with a groundbreaking storyline on General Hospital.

On the July 15 episode, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) gave birth to her son with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). The emotional delivery marked a significant milestone for the daytime drama, as it is believed to be the first time in the show's 63-year history that a fully Black baby has been born on-screen.

The moment was widely praised for its representation and added another meaningful chapter to the legacy of General Hospital, which has continued evolving while reflecting more diverse families and stories.
