Y&R Casting Shake-Up! Tetona Jackson Replaces Tatyana Ali as Roxanne; Fareed Ward Joins as New Doctor

Big changes are coming to Genoa City! The Young and the Restless is bringing back a familiar character with a brand-new face while introducing another doctor to the CBS soap.

Y&R Casting Shake-Up! Tetona Jackson Replaces Tatyana Ali as Roxanne; Fareed Ward Joins as New Doctor

According to an exclusive report from TV Insider, Tetona Jackson has been cast as Roxanne Barrington, the role previously played by Tatyana Ali. Meanwhile, Fareed Ward is joining the show as Dr. Andrew Bishop.

Both actors are expected to make their debuts in November 2026, just as the soap enters a new chapter under co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor.

Roxanne Barrington Returns After 13 Years!

Longtime Y&R fans will remember Roxanne as Devon Winters' (Bryton James) former girlfriend.

Tatyana Ali originated the role in 2007 and remained with the soap until 2013. Roxanne and Devon shared an on-again, off-again romance filled with plenty of complications.

Now, after more than a decade away, Roxanne is returning with Tetona Jackson stepping into the role.

Jackson is no stranger to television. Her acting credits include Poppa's House, Boomerang, and Good Trouble. However, Y&R will mark her daytime soap debut.

Could Roxanne's unexpected return stir up old feelings for Devon? With so much having changed since she left Genoa City, her homecoming could create some interesting drama.

For now, the reason behind Roxanne's return remains a mystery.

Fareed Ward Joins as Dr. Andrew Bishop

There's also a new face heading to Genoa City Memorial Hospital!

Fareed Ward has been cast as Dr. Andrew Bishop, who will work alongside Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox).

Ward brings an impressive television résumé, including appearances on Will & Grace, FBI, S.W.A.T., and CIA.

Soap fans may also remember his appearance on All My Children in 2010, when he portrayed Larry.

With Nate returning to the medical profession and Stephanie serving as the hospital's chief of staff, Dr. Bishop's arrival could open the door to new professional rivalries, friendships, and possibly romance.

A New Era Begins for Y&R

These casting announcements come as new co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O'Connor prepare to make their mark on The Young and the Restless.

Their storylines are scheduled to begin airing November 11, 2026.

Bringing back a character connected to Devon's past while introducing a new physician suggests that Genoa City could be in for some fresh storylines.

Exact debut dates for Jackson and Ward have not yet been announced.

Are you excited to see Roxanne return, or do you wish Tatyana Ali had reprised the role? And what do you think about the new doctor joining Genoa City?
