Days Of Our Lives Recasts Javi Hernandez: Jacob Martinez Takes Over The Role
According to Deadline, actor Jacob Martinez has been cast as the new Javi Hernandez, taking over the role previously played by Al Calderon. Calderon, who joined the Peacock soap in 2024, exited the soap in 2025 for the second season of Brilliant Minds. His final episodes as Javi are expected to air in May 2026.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to meet the new Javi, as Martinez is slated to make his Days of Our Lives debut on June 30th.
Martinez hails from Norfolk, Nebraska, and began performing at a young age, including appearances at the historic Johnny Carson Theatre. In an interesting full-circle moment, the actor will now be filming at Burbank Studios — the same location where Carson famously taped The Tonight Show.
The rising star is also a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) and is represented by AKA Talent Agency and Impact Artists Group.
Following the casting announcement, Martinez shared the exciting news on Instagram, while Days fans quickly began reacting online to the latest Salem recast.
